Back in February 2007, Bluebonnet RC&D teamed up with Cleburne’s Code Enforcement to clean up an illegal dump site at the end of S. Brazos (Oakhill Rd.). Thanks to an $11,000 Clean-up Grant and $25,000 specifically for tire disposal in Johnson County, we were able to clean this site up entirely, without any cost to the city!
Before:Tires for miles! These before pictures show the sad state of affairs of Oakhill Road.
On February 24, 2007, led by Code Enforcement Officer Curtis Jones, volunteers cleared about 900 tires and a 30-yard container full of trash! Thank you to Able Tire Company for providing a trailer for tire collection and thanks to Waste Management for the container for debris. It was a great community effort and with teamwork, we made a big difference! Bluebonnet RC&D is extremely proud to have been part of this project!
After: There she is! That lush, rural landscape we love to see!
